The Medical Education Centre is based at the James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation
Trust. It is a self contained unit with administrative support. There is a good medical reference
library and dedicated teaching rooms with modern audio-visual equipment. The centre provides
a wide and varied programme to support continuing education with the local consultants and
visiting specialists participating.
There is a GP Specialty Training Programme and an active teaching programme for junior staff
in which most consultants participate.

SIR JAMES PAGET LIBRARY
The Sir James Paget Library is a multi-disciplinary Library catering for all grades of staff. The Library is situated on the Ground Floor next to the Board Room. The Main Computer Room has 8 terminals, 2 of which can be used for online e mails such as Hotmail. All terminals are linked to the internet and have Microsoft Office applications installed.There is also a scanner on 1 of the terminals. A smaller training room has 6 terminals.
Photocopies of journals not held in the library are available through various Regional and National Programmes. There is a charge of £2.50 for photocopies ordered from other SHA Libraries, and £10 from the British Library Books can be ordered from other libraries within the SHA at a cost of £5 per item, or from the British Library at a cost of £17.50. Photocopies from items in stock cost 10p per sheet. A security system linked to a CCTV is installed in the library and so after normal staffed hours the Library is for Reference and quiet study only.
